chrome.storage.sync is Chrome's own built-in storage layer. It syncs your data between your Chrome browsers if you're signed into Chrome — that sync happens between you and Google, not us. We never have access to it.
Reddit Scout operates entirely inside your browser. Here's exactly what it does when active:
It does not make any requests to Reddit's API. It does not send page content, post titles, or any other information to our servers — because we have no servers.
The extension requests the following Chrome permissions. Here's exactly why each one is needed:
Payment processing is handled by Stripe. When you purchase Reddit Scout Pro, your payment information (card details, billing email) is submitted directly to Stripe — it never passes through our systems.
We receive confirmation that a payment was successful, and your license key is generated locally in your browser from a hash of your email and Stripe's payment ID. We do not store your card details anywhere.
Stripe's privacy policy is available at stripe.com/privacy.
If you choose to enter your email address on our website to receive product updates, that email is stored only for the purpose of sending you those updates. We don't share it with third parties or use it for advertising. You can unsubscribe at any time by replying to any email we send.
This website (wushu75.github.io/RedditScout) uses Google Fonts for typography. Google Fonts may log your IP address when fonts are loaded — see Google's privacy policy. No other third-party scripts, analytics tools, or tracking pixels are used on this website.
The extension itself makes no requests to any third-party services except Stripe during the payment flow.
Reddit Scout is intended for adults and freelance professionals. We do not knowingly collect any information from anyone under the age of 13. If you believe a child has provided information to us, please contact us and we will address it promptly.
Because we don't collect personal data, there's very little for us to action. However:
If you're in the UK or EU, you have additional rights under GDPR / UK GDPR including the right to access, correct, or erase data we hold. Since we hold no personal data beyond optional email subscriptions, these rights primarily apply to those email records.
If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we'll also notify users who have opted into email updates. Continued use of the extension after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
