RecencyPulse is small, so most problems have short answers. If yours isn't here, get in touch at the bottom of the page.
Click the RecencyPulse icon in your Chrome toolbar, type a topic, then click Search Reddit or Search TikTok. The results open in a new tab.
You can also press Enter instead of clicking — it searches whichever platform is currently selected.
Chrome hides new extensions behind the puzzle-piece icon. Click the puzzle piece, find RecencyPulse, and click the pin next to it to keep it visible.
It shows which platform is selected. Orange means Reddit, black means TikTok. Pressing Enter searches the outlined one.
Check that you've typed something in the box — the input briefly turns orange if it's empty.
If it's still stuck, try reloading the extension:
chrome://extensionsTikTok limits search for logged-out visitors. Sign in to TikTok in the same browser and the results will load normally.
This isn't something the extension can work around — it's TikTok's own restriction, and it applies whether you arrive via RecencyPulse or by typing the address yourself.
Reddit occasionally shows a few pinned or highly-ranked posts outside the window. The time filter is applied in the URL — you can confirm it by looking for t=month in the address bar of the results tab.
It was, briefly. Facebook returns an error for direct search links unless you're already logged in, and has been retiring the search paths that made it work. Rather than ship a button that fails for most people, it was removed.
Because there's nothing to approve. RecencyPulse requests no permissions at all — it only opens new tabs, which needs none.
